Choose Democracy (Bochrim BaDemocratia) is a campaign to mobilise thousands of people across the UK Jewish Community to demonstrate solidarity with Israelis fighting for Israel’s democratic future.
There is a need to offer a broad and cross communal response to unite much of the UK Jewish community in their support for Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people and a democratic state that seeks to “ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants.”
We want raise a loud, proud, and credible voice in support of those fighting for Israel’s future as a democracy. As Tzipi Livni said, “this is the fight for Israel’s soul.”

As an organisation
For organisations that wish to endorse or support the campaign, we are asking that they share at least two of these priorities and concerns:
1. Support for Israel as a homeland for all Jewish people and a democratic state that seeks to “ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants.”
2. Appreciation for the importance of Israel in UK Jewish communal life and concern for the increased strain this new government will place on the relationship between British Jews & Israel.
3. Recognition of the need to end the occupation and ongoing injustice for Palestinians, and acknowledgment of the occupation’s corrosive impact on Israel’s viability as a democracy.
